My weekend was full of parties. One crashed, one bbq and one full of little people. I happened to be asked to do the games AND cake for the little people’s party!

Boy. It was full of…boys! And I loved every moment of it. Ahem. They were little boys. So much fun! And noise. And cheating. Am good ol’ complaining. Nothing is so good as seeing active boys getting so responsible when given some authority and responsibility! ;-) They’re growing up to be real men!

Right, back to the cakes….When E&E’s mom contacted me about doing this party’s cakes, time was short and sleep was dwindling..but PTLOL (Praise The Lord Out Loud. Haha! Isn’t this awesome?) everything panned out beeyootifully. Prayer works! ;)

Tada! I conquered my fear of fondant! But have to work on the cake’s innards skinnards, as it was a little dense.

Did I tell you that I sat and stared at the bare white cake for the longest time thinking of what in the world to do with it?

It was amazing. No ideas came, until I began cutting the fondant into swirls. haha. Another PTLOL moment! Did I also say that the party going on was very tempting? Please have it again at my house! ;P

Tips for the fondant rollers, knead knead knead! And prop your cake box on top of a mushroom soup can or something to give it a lift and slowly use your fondant presser to make it right!

There we go! Blue cupcakes turned green, as only Buttercup, not being real butter, can produce a nice light blue. Using real butter = green cream because yellow + blue = green! I like the overall look though :) Donchu love butterflies?

Well back to the party. Little boys are such cheaters! LOL. At least girls are discreet. Hahaha. Okay fine, that really is the only difference! But it is too cute, and they must be taught it aint right. We did so, with the clever engineering of Kyern & Joel muh two helpers, as well as Eliza…see, the blanket game don’t work if you know who is behind right? So we did last minute switcheroos and foiled the cheaters every time. They will learn! ;-)

More party ideas for little people: BOWLING! Set up your bowling pins in a box set on its side so that the pins fly INTO the box, and not scattered everywhere. I had Joel the mighty sit inside the box (brilliant idea no? his idea too!) and become the bowling machine. LOL. It was great. When the ball bowled in, he collected it and sent it bowling right out just like a machine, and Joshua/NottyNat set the pins straight up.

I tell you, boys empowered = energy channeled to help.

The girls were so sweet too! A different ball game, and really cooperative with the games. I love girls. Who doesn’t?!

But lil boys……….man, they are my personal favs. In so short a time, the brattiness could disappear, and glimpses of their true potential and sense of humour shone right through.

Growing up is so precious. I pray they will always have the right people behind them, whispering the right things to them. Giving wise guidance. And for right choices all the way through.

I can’t wait to see the men they become.

    Hi Ms Eunice!

How did you do the tiered cake? Did you have to put dowels?

I recently did a tiered cake too but I was scared it would sink!

What do I do if I don’t put dowels???

    Thanks,
    Becki

Hakeber Aww no, Eunice is fine! I was just kidding you ;o) Has Pek Ling/Lisanne contacted you? Ooh nice. Pictures! Did it sink? I just made a chocolate cake (it turned out dense unfortunately rrrr, not enough beating) – not sponge or anything and laid it over. If I had 3 layers I may consider using dowels, or just a few satay sticks.

Hope it turns out for you! And got any pix of the tier you did? =)
