Something I’ve been meditating on:

Psalm 37
* vs 3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.
* vs 4 Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.
* vs 5 Commit you way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.
* vs 6 He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.
* vs 34 Wait on the Lord, and keep His way, and He shall exalt you to inherit the land; when the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.
* vs 39 The salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; He is their strength in the time of trouble.
* vs 40 And the Lord shall help them and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the wicked; and save them, because they trust in Him.

My passion & perseverance can get knocked out pretty easily. Sustaining is a hard thing for me. I got pretty discouraged at my lack of maintenance, but the real secret is to run to Him every morning.

John C. Shaw

Every morning – “I set myself on fire and people come to watch me burn” – John Wesley

We’ve been going through the amazing series at my cell, digging through the Bible to answer questions on this one sheet of paper. I’ve grown so much by comparing David’s relationship with God & Paul’s perseverance and passion to receive the prize and run the race well.

I find however I forget and lose grasp of these “Good Thoughts”. Food for thought. Food for thought must be munched on. I always bookmark things. I keep telling myself, “I gotta read this over again! Gotta read more of it, gotta hang on to it, delve in more”. But I keep being busy, and I slowly lose grasp of it. In the end I forgot why it was important. And you guessed it, LOSE IT.

Do any of you feel that?

I believe the one thing lacking from my life is going deep into something & spending time to meditate on it. My entrepreneurship module, the Word of God, anything and everything. I’ve begin setting time-outs for myself now.

Meditation: ‘Chewing the cud’ – what a sheep does. A sheep has 3 stomachs! He chews (meditates) on his food (the Word, or anything you want to grow in) 3 times over. Tell me you won’t grow in a subject! Growing takes time. Rewards come after time. Effort.

Possible encumbrances: Being lost. Not knowing what to do when I sit down and choose to meditate. Giving up. Getting distracted. Not pursuing.

Combatting encumbrances: Tuning my mindset. It’s life or death. Urgency.

…desperation.

I am sooo weak in this, preferring to do stuff I like (MSN, BAKE! SHOP! DISTRACTIONS!!!). But it’s time to grow up, and grow up I shall. I’m going to throw aside every weight that so easily entraps me…

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us” Hebrews 12:1

From Philip Klingger

For when I am weak, then I am strong.

(did I mention I got in free to a pretty spiffy Worship Central by Tim Hughes? Good food for thought. Good food for action! Thanks Bryan!)

I’ve had enough of bookmarking. It’s time to grow!
